So, our son is 16 months old now and is officially full time at a great daycare center that he LOOOOOVES.  One of the benefits to this new schedule is that he is super active at daycare and is able to run himself ragged.  The additional benefit of this new arrangement is that my Mom is now freed up from watching him 3 days per week, which means she will miss him, which means we now get to have date night once a week again – YIPPEE!

Mind you, we will still spend the day and evening with him and she will be there to give him a bath and put him down, but then we get to go out and have a sane dinner (without a squirmy child who needs to be constantly entertained and who keeps trying to slide under or climb over the table) at a nice place and maybe even drink a few cocktails and/or wine!

For those of you who have not crossed the baby threshold yet, a piece of advice – enjoy your free time!!!  Not sure if our date nights will be able to get started this weekend or next, but we already have a list of restaurants we plan to visit.  We live in North Park, so that area and downtown will be our hunting ground.

So far, our list consists of the following places:
Alexanders
Vagabond
True North/Urban Solace
The Linkery (at its new’ish location)
Zensei (fantastic sushi)
The new seafood restaurant next door to Zensei

Any recommendations out there?  We love to try new things and can’t wait to get one night a week where we get to connect with each other.  We are so lucky to have Grandma living close.
