We made these centerpieces for a beach themed wedding.  We also made the table names to go with the theme.  This was a fun wedding for us because we were able to do a lot of hands-on crafts.  These centerpieces are totally doable for the DIY bride – just make sure you have someone who’s not in the wedding party available to set them up for you:

What you’ll need for each centerpiece:
3 cylindrical vases of varying heights (I believe these are 3″ in diameter to fit the florist bowls)
2 hearty flowers of your choice (we recommend orchids or gerber daisies) placed in water tubes
3 clear florist bowls
3 floating candles (even though they’re not in water, they’re best because they won’t melt all over the place)
river rocks
ribbon for edge of vases
lots of sand

Use a glue gun to adhere the ribbon to the edge of the vase.  Fill each vase to your liking with sand and river rocks, insert flower with water tube.  Fill each clear plastic florist bowl with sand and place in vase (be sure to take a vase with you to the florist shop so you can be sure the bowl fits nicely).  Put a candle in each bowl and wallah, you’re done.
