I may upset some people here, but I am not a fan of tulle. However, it seems to be THE go to fabric for many DIY brides. The fabric seems to pop up the most when the church is being decorated by an ‘old school’ decorator, or just someone who has an ‘old school’ sensability about them. I’m here to tell you that tulle (not organza, there is a difference and I will show you) screams of DIY, outdated, cheap style. Just because it is cheap does not mean it’s your only option to saving $. Saving money does not have to cost you an updated style.
- Don’t. Outdated – period.
- Don’t. This just screams DIY hobby shop. The bunching, the ivy, the tulle – outdated.
- Do. This is beautiful! Again, lovely draping. Was tagged as tulle, but it is likely organza or english netting because it flows too nicely. Tulle is too stiff.
- Don’t. Balloons & Tulle just make your wedding look either cheap or like a bar mitzvah – there’s a time & place and a wedding isn’t it for balloons & tulle. Nice colors though
- DO. This is where tulle belongs – on a pretty wedding dress
- DO. The draping in this room is beautiful and totally upgrades the room. It is likely this is organza not tulle.
- Don’t. the chairs should be upgraded to white wood. the tulle just exacerbates the problem. the flowers are pretty though
- Don’t. Tulle at church – surprise surprise. Stiff & outdated
