Wedding cakes are so beautiful, have you ever thought of having smaller cakes made as centerpieces for your guests’ tables?  Imagine each table having an individual centerpiece cake and when it’s time for the Bride & Groom to cut the cake, all guests stand, put knife to cake and cut together.  Symbolically, cutting the cake and feeding it to each other is the first task that bride and groom perform jointly as husband and wife and signifies that they will feed and care for each other.  How better to incorporate your guests into this tradition since every good marriage requires a great support system of family and friends.  A centerpiece cake should feed approximately 10 people and run approximately $75-100/cake.

I’ve talked about cupcakes before, and another idea is the mini-cake.  Similar to a cupcake, but designed to look more like, well a mini-wedding cake.  Very pretty and different from the traditional.

Finally, a DIY, super cost-effective option – the Individual Cheesecake.  Buy cheesecake, cut it into squares and decorate with pretty berries.  Buy a plain wedding cake stand, use ribbon in your wedding colors to line the edges, then place the cheesecake pieces on the stand.  You could also buy Petit Fours from a baker or from Costco.
