YLE Quick Tip: If you’re having your reception in a hotel ballroom and are required to use their catering department, ask if they can use typical items in atypical ways to help set the stage for your wedding decor. For example, would they be willing to serve the starter soup in a martini glass rather than a soup bowl? Or, soup in a shot glass as a tray-passed hors d’oeuvre. Or, how about asking to order your sparkling wine in splits and rather than having the hotel pour the champagne for the toast, have the waitstaff pass out cute bottles of Pommery Pop (all pink bottle) pre-opened. For a more whimsical touch, have the waiters pass out straws with the mini bottles.
