On Wednesday night we went to the Your Wedding Day Magazine’s Spring launch party.  Wow- the beautiful vignettes created for the magazine’s Spring issue due out in April are not to be missed.

While at the YWD Launch Party, we were fortunate enough to meet James, the founder and President of the Ventura Limoncello Company.  Speaking with James reminded me of my honeymoon where my husband and I spent time in Italy and were fortunate enough to make a small bottle of limoncello of our own.  In all honesty though, I’d rather buy it from a place like the Ventura Limoncello Company who has been doing this for many years and still handcrafts its award-winning limoncello.  Talking with James, he shared with me some great alternative ideas for using their Limoncello, not the least of which is to use it in my favorite cocktail – the Lemondrop.

I’ve gone on the company’s website to learn more about these great recipes James was speaking about and discovered this little number that sounds ultra decadent.  Imagine pairing this drink during your dessert hour – have this drink served in a small dessert cup along with your wedding cake.  Cheers!

Limoncello Truffle Martini (white or dark)

In a shaker, muddle 3-4 large blackberries
Add ice
1oz Ventura Limoncello Crema
½ oz Ventura Limoncello Originale
2oz Absolut Vanilla
1oz Godiva White (or Dark) Chocolate Liqueur
¾ oz Simple Syrup
Squeeze 1 lemon wedge
Shake Well

Strain into a martini glass
