We love contests for kids’ ‘firsts’. This month, we’re calling on all you parents for pictures of your children’s first haircut. Were they cute, did they like it, did they hate it? My son loved the buzzer and practically fell asleep on my lap for his first haircut. His second haircut however, was a little less calm. He is in the “i do it” phase so he had to sit in the chair all on his own like a big boy. He was fine at first, but then wanted to see what the heck she was doing and started his usual squirming, so we tried to divert his attention by showing him the cool animals on his haircutting smock, which only made him realize that something was wrapped around him (he hates bibs) and caused him to suddenly freak out wanting to remove the smock. After removing the smock he was a lot happier to look at the animals. We walked out with a clean cut toddler, who now looked like he had back hair.
