Ok, I am truly laughing out loud with these books, they have hit my funny bone but good! Kids will love them and parents will too. I think one of my fondest memories with my children is snuggling up in bed reading a good book. Or sitting on our glider chair outside on a warm summer night with books in hand, reading together.
Start a tradition, pick a comfy spot, gather blankets and pillows and meet up together at the same time each night, maybe even with a healthy snack. One of our favorite snacks was, “Party on a Plate” ! A cut up juicy apple that I had sprinkled red and green sprinkles on, (the kind you use on cookies) and thin slices of cheddar cheese. Fun, fun, fun!
My first book I want to recommend, the titles will make you smile right away, is ” Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs” by:
Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing

Description: In Chewandswallow, meals rain from the sky at appropriate times of the day, but a change in the weather blows in massive problems. “Prediction: Children dreaming up their own weather menus are sure to follow up on the fun.”–“Booklist.” A “New York Times” Best Illustrated Children’s Book of the Year. Three-color illustrations.
From the Publisher: If food dropped like rain from the sky, wouldn’t it be marvelous! Or would it? It could, after all, be messy. And you’d have no choice. What if you didn’t like what fell? Or what if too much came? Have you ever thought of what it might be like to be squashed flat by a pancake?
My second one, and there is a series of this book, which is great because you will want to get them all. I read this one to my grandson, over and over and over! We have had to tape the edges from so much use. The kids will want you to read this one just because of the title! “Walter The Farting Dog” by:
Penguin Group (USA)

Description: Pink bubblegum, pink peonies, pink cotton candy, and pink fairy princess dresses abound in this delightful book about a little girl who just can’t resist one more bite of pink cupcakes. Her parents warn her not to eat too many of them, but when Pinkalicious does . . . she turns pink!
About the Author: Author and illustrator Victoria Kann’s award-winning artwork has graced the covers and pages of many magazines, newspapers, and books. When she isn’t illustrating, she can be found sampling delicious cupcakes in the bakeries of New York City, with her husband and two wee Pinkerellas.
