Endangered Species Chocolate Logo

We found this great site, Endangered Species Chocolate (ESC) that was founded in 1993 in effort to spread awareness and to make an impact on the growing number of plant and animal species that are disappearing from Earth. Since then the mission has grown to embrace a new definition of “endangered” – that all species, habitat and humanity are endangered on our planet, not just animals on a list. 10 percent of the net profits are donated to help support species, habitat and humanity.

Endangered Species Chocolate is 100% Ethically Traded. They buy its cacao from small family-owned properties, helping sustain the habitats and communities in which they exist.  They only buy cacao grown in the natural shade of rich, diverse forests. Choosing their chocolate is one way you can help support sustainable forest farmland and the species that flourish there. Since it is ethically traded, ESC ensures farmers humane working conditions and a fair price for their cacao.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t think of any better way to celebrate our precious Earth on Earth Day and beyond than eating chocolate.

Visit Endangered Species Chocolate to learn more and order your chocolate!
