I made over 100 of these for a wedding and 6 for a Halloween party. So it is a doable project no matter how many you need. If you are making a lot go right to the wire source online to get the best buy. My 18 gauge wire came from Fun Wire at Toner Plastics Inc. and the wire comes in small or large amounts and in assorted colors and gauges. I recommend 18 gauge, it’s easy to work with and holds up well. If you have large escort cards or table numbers, just make your wire holders larger so they won’t tip over. You can also use 2 wire holders per card. One on the bottom and one on the bottom, making it more like a frame. But be sure to use heavy card stock if you use two.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 18 gauge wire
- Wire cutters
- Ruler
- Pencil
Wire Card Holders, supplies
Step 1-Fold wire in half
# 2- Cross wire to make 1in. loop & wrap wire on both sides around pencil making 2 two loops
#3- Fold wire to back of holder
#4- Wrap each side around pencil toward holder
#5- Flatten the back loop flush with the table
#6- Each back wire will be different if you don't wrap wire around pencil the same way
#7-Place your card between the back wire loops and push together to hold in place
