{Free Printables} Sip & See Baby “Shower” Printable Collection

I actually created this Sip & See printable collection awhile ago.  If you’re not familiar with a Sip & See don’t feel bad – likely you’re not from the South (neither am I actually) where Sip & Sees are apparently quite popular.  I was a party planner and thus I learned about them some time ago.  I love the concept and wish more of us Yanks would jump on board. 

So, here’s the deal – rather than having a typical baby shower, the couple waits until the baby is born and then invites everyone over to their house for a Sip & See.  Come Sip cocktails and other refreshments while you See the new baby, check in on the new Mama and Papa, bring over little gifts and generally have a lovely time.  People can come and go throughout the day, or it can be a set party time. 

I know for some this idea may sound horrifying – the idea of being a new parent and hosting a party at your house, but think of it this way – it’s a nice way to get the inevitable ‘baby visit’ out of the way and with rules and confines (i.e. time limits and anti-bacterial hand sanitizer).  Hopefully, after a couple of weeks, you’re starting to get into a groove with your new bundle of joy, so you can plan the Sip & See around things like nap time and whatnot.  PLUS, with all the people coming to visit, the new parents may actually get a little break – just sit on your special chairs and bask in the glory of being new parents.
