This is not my usual snarky post…

Yes, Memorial Day is a day to gather together and have a bbq with friends and family.  For many, it also means an extra day off of work.  But, we must remember during our celebrations, what it is we are honoring.  Why it is we have this extra day off of work.

This doesn’t mean we must be somber or sad or even morose.  What it means is that we must remember and honor those who, for the love of their country, have lost their lives during times of war.  It is okay to celebrate and have a great time.  Raise a glass for those who have passed and thank them for giving you the freedoms you enjoy.  It is a serious and somber topic, but the day is about celebrating those who have fought for us – let us not forget them, let us not be overly saddened for their loss, but rather, let us celebrate them, let us celebrate their braveness, and by all means, let us not forget them.

I’ve created this simple little Memorial Day signage that you can use at your Memorial Day BBQ.  It would be cute and unobtrusive in an 8×10 frame and would give people a little food for thought, to stop for a moment out of their revelry and say a little prayer, or a simple thank you for all the brave soldiers who have lost their lives in war.
