Wanting to celebrate Memorial Day with family and friends, and give thanks to those who have fought and given their lives for us? In 2013, this party was created to do just that – bring family and friends together in a celebratory way and to honor our fallen.
Food was a classic bbq, with guests bringing a side dish.
Drink was sangria, lemonade and a limoncello bar for guests to make their own concoctions. Recipe ideas were given along with mixers for the limoncello.
Decor consisted of lots of red, white & blue printables, Americana drink dispensers, color coordinated linens, lemons and flags. At the end of the big food table a framed sign was created that thanked those who serve and honored those who gave their lives. A big sign for the limoncello bar was made out of metal painted with chalkboard chalk, then flourescent chalk pens were used to make the sign and put on an easel. Printable directions were hung on the board using magnets.
Activities were set up between the party house and the neighbors yard (who were military themselves and enjoyed the kids playing in their yard) to keep the kids busy and active while the parents enjoyed food, drink and conversation…and maybe played some games too:)
And to really tell the story – here are the pictures:
